I have both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in linguistics, and briefly entertained the idea of doing a doctorate in the subject as well. As well as a strong grounding in theoretical areas like syntax, pragmatics, and phonology, I have a particular interest in sociolinguistics, especially lavender linguistics, CMC, language policy, and creole languages. I would consider myself a champion for minoritised and endangered languages.

I also received a couple of awards during my academic career – £600 from the Philological Society’s Martin Burr Fund, as a contribution towards conference travel costs, as well as the MA in Linguistics prize for being the best in year.
